Countless Formula 1 enthusiasts harbor dreams of owning an F1 car, but for the sons of renowned DJ and record producer DJ Khaled, this dream became a reality at a remarkably young age. They were presented with a Ferrari Formula 1 car adorned with Charles Leclerc’s number.
Khaled took to Instagram to share a video showcasing his two sons, Aalam (4) and Ashad (7), proudly standing beside the vibrant red vehicle. Both children were decked out in Ferrari gear, echoing the iconic colors of the car. The Formula 1 car, resembling either the SF71H from the 2018 season or the SF-90 from 2019, hinted at Khaled’s keen interest in the sport and his extensive collection of high-performance cars.
Given Khaled’s evident passion for Formula 1, as evidenced by his enthusiastic presence at the previous year’s Miami Grand Prix, the addition of this special Ferrari to his family’s lineup seemed like a natural choice. However, with Leclerc’s number adorning the car, it appears to be more of a showpiece than a functional racing vehicle. This discrepancy suggests that the car may lack an actual engine, especially considering that Kimi Raikkonen and Sebastian Vettel were the Ferrari drivers during the 2018 season, with Leclerc joining the team in 2019.
Despite its non-operational status, Khaled’s decision to gift his sons with such an extraordinary “toy” is commendable. Although it may be a replica, the car still boasts original bodywork and design elements from a bygone era in Formula 1, predating the current ground-effect era. Moreover, despite its absence of a power unit, obtaining such a model undoubtedly came with a significant price tag.
