Bayern Munich lightly beat Arsenal, advancing to the semi-finals of the Champions League
After a shocking loss to Aston Villa in the Premier League last weekend, Arsenal marched to Bayern Munich’s Allianz Arena in a bad mood.
In the end, they collapsed in a breathtaking battle of wits in Germany. The match had only one goal. Bayern Munich proved their bravery to win the ticket to the next round thanks to Kimmich’s goal. They reached the semi-finals with a total score of 3-2 after two matches. The opponent of the “Gray Tigers” in the next round is Real Madrid.

Coming into this match, Bayern Munich entered the game better thanks to home field advantage. They had their first chance in the 4th minute. From Kimmich’s cross, Harry Kane shot very quickly but the ball narrowly missed the goal.
Arsenal quickly responded when in the 8th minute, Gabriel Martinelli fired a shot from distance that hit the opponent’s goal post.
If in the first leg, the two teams played explosively, then in the rematch, they tend to play cautiously. The pace of the first half was not high, they mainly fought in the midfield area. Therefore, this half did not see any goals scored.

The two teams mainly played stalking, waiting for the opportunity. Right at the beginning of the second half, Bayern Munich almost scored. From Kimmich’s pass, Goretzka’s header hit the crossbar of Arsenal’s goal. After that, Guerreiro made a very quick rebound kick but the ball went incorrectly.
In the 63rd minute, after unsuccessful assists, Kimmich directly scored. After Guerreiro’s cross, the German midfielder rushed in to head the ball fiercely, not giving goalkeeper David Raya a chance to block.
After this defeat, Arsenal was forced to press forward. Coach Arteta sent Garbiel Jesus, Trossard and Nketiah onto the field. However, the gameplay of the “Gunners” has not improved much. They did not create many dangerous opportunities towards Bayern Munich’s goal.
The closer the match went, the more impatient Arsenal became. In the end, they could not score and accepted defeat with a score of 0-1 against Bayern Munich. With being eliminated from the Champions League, coach Arteta’s team faces a blank season when they are at a disadvantage in the Premier League championship race.
