Dwayne Michael Carter Jr., better known professionally as Lil Wayne, paid $16.8 million for this newly constructed mansion on Miami Beach’s exclusive guard-gated Allison Island, directly overlooking Biscayne Bay, just short of four years ago. According to a report from The Wall Street Journal, the 40-year-old “Lollipop” lyricist is re-listing the contemporary home for a whopping $29.5 million.
This significantly increased price includes an elevator of commercial quality, a luxurious movie theater with suede-covered walls, a wine cellar, and staff quarters with a butler’s kitchen, to name a few. In addition, there is a dock and 110 feet of waterfront.
Built-in 2017 by Miami developer Laurent Harari and renowned local architect Ralph Choeff on a half-acre-plus gated lot, Lil Wayne’s modern extravagance is tucked away behind a security gate. A walkway traverses a reflecting pool before arriving at the seven-bedroom, 11-bathroom home, which features soaring ceilings, walls of glass, and integrated indoor-outdoor surroundings.
A custom mahogany entryway leads to a spacious great room with a 22-foot ceiling, a lacquered fireplace, and sliding glass doors that lead to the rear. The dining room is adjacent to the family room, and around the corner is an eat-in culinary kitchen with custom Italian cabinetry, Wolf and Sub-Zero appliances, and access to a courtyard.
Upstairs, a sculptural floating staircase leads to the luxurious master suite, which is 2,500 square feet in size and features a sitting area, an expansive private terrace, a walk-in closet, and dual baths with all the anticipated luxuries. Outdoors, the tropically-inspired grounds feature a large pool flanked by an open-air pavilion with its own kitchen and bathroom, as well as a number of areas ideal for lounging and entertaining al fresco.
Cyril Matz of Douglas Elliman has listed the Miami property. Lil Wayne has relocated to his $15.4 million mansion in Hidden Hills, California, which he purchased last year.
