Sadio Mane, the renowned Senegalese football player, is known for his simplicity, humility, and frugality. Even during a match between Liverpool and Leicester last season, Mane was spotted cleaning the restroom at a mosque in Liverpool. While preparing for a recent Boxing Day match against the same opponent, he was photographed using a cracked screen phone.
Despite his current weekly salary of £150,000, approximately £7.8 million annually, Mane’s income ranks below that of Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk, and Roberto Firmino at Liverpool. One might wonder why Mane doesn’t invest in a new phone or at least replace the screen.
In reality, Mane, despite his substantial wealth, refrains from indulging in luxury cars, extravagant parties, or multimillion-dollar mansions. Instead, he allocates his earnings to assist people in his home country, Senegal.
“Why would I need 10 Ferraris, 20 diamond-studded watches, or a few private jets? Extravagant things don’t make me happier,” he shared in an interview. “Years ago, my family struggled to have enough to eat. I used to work in the fields to support my parents. Despite not having a full education, thanks to football, I can now help my people.”
Mane, a hero in Senegal, engages in charitable actions such as building schools, sports facilities, providing clothing, shoes, and food. Additionally, he contributes 70 euros per month to the poorest people in Senegal to improve their lives. Instead of flaunting luxurious cars, spacious mansions, extravagant trips, or even airplanes, Mane chooses to help others. “I prefer to share my good life with those in need.”
Mane’s kindness and humility have earned respect from fans worldwide. “Look at Sadio Mane. With the enormous weekly salary he earns, he doesn’t care about the condition of his phone. Meanwhile, there are those who can’t earn a dime but still want the latest iPhone,” commented one fan.
“This is the difference between what you need and what you want!” another online user agreed. “People always look for what they want rather than what they truly need. Live humbly like Man
