Mesut Ozil is of the opinion that Jude Bellingham stands a chance to clinch the Ballon d’Or if the English youngster manages to secure some significant trophies either with his club or on the international stage this year.
Despite the fact that he is just twenty years old, Bellingham has become a main center of interest in the world of football. His extraordinary skill and performances have garnered appreciation from all directions, and his behavior away from the field has also garnered a great deal of respect.
Over the course of an interview with MACA, Ozil, a former midfielder for Real Madrid, did not hold back when it came to lavishing adulation over the player who now wears the number five shirt for Los Blancos. The player, who is 35 years old, emphasized the significance of Bellingham’s contributions to the success of his team, both on and off the field, and highlighted the potential implications that this may have for him personally.
“The last few weeks he has looked a bit tired, but if he wins La Liga, the Champions League and the European Championship he could be a candidate for the Ballon d’Or,” Ozil said in his interview. The fact that he is still so young is incomprehensible.
“His first half of the season was incredible and left everyone speechless.”

Another player who Ozil was quick to compliment was Arda Guler, who is a young offensive midfielder for both Madrid and Turkey.
Following Ozil’s departure from Fenerbahce at the beginning of the 2022/23 season, Guler was handed the number 10 position at Fenerbahce. The kid proceeded to replicate Ozil’s career by bringing his abilities to Spain the previous year.
“I am pretty familiar with him. Ozil referred to him as “like my little brother” at the time when they were both playing for Fenerbahce.
As a result of the fact that everyone is aware of his brilliance, I do not want to provide him with excessive praise and put further pressure on him. The scenario he is in is not very simple to handle, particularly considering that all of the hope of a nation that is as interesting for football as Turkey is put on him.
