Metallica wins Best Metal Performance at 2024 Grammy Awards to their 2023 album 72 Seasons
2024 Grammy Awards: Best Metal Performance goes to Metallica.
The winning single from the metal veterans’ 2023 album 72 Seasons is the title track.
The title track of Metallica’s 2023 album, “72 Seasons,” earned the band the Best Metal Performance Grammy Award on Sunday, February 4. During the “Premiere Ceremony” that was streamed live, bassist Robert Trujillo accepted the trophy on behalf of the group.
The other rock categories were dominated by Boyngeius and Paramore, therefore Metallica was the only heavy artist to win a Grammy this year. The venerable metal band won the title after defeating Spiritbox, Ghоst, Slipknot, and Disturbed. As of right present, Metallica holds the record for most Grammy wins among metal bands with nine.
During his acceptance speech, Trujillo said, “I just want to sаy that Lars, James, and Kirk could not be here because they’re with their families, and families are everything to all of us.” “It’s a little easier because I reside in Southern California.”
In the categories of Best Rock Album and Best Rock Performance, Metallica was also nominated; however, they were defeated by boygenius and Paramore, respectively. Here is the complete list of Grammy Award winners for 2024.
When Metallica continues their “M72 World Tour,” which includes another North American leg, fans will have the opportunity to see them live later this year. Get your tickets here and see out our conversation with Trujillo and Lars Ulrich from our 2023 Cover Story.
