REAL MADRID ALREADY WORKING ON REPLACEMENT AS NACHO CONFIRMS DECISION TO LEAVE
Nacho Fernandez has confirmed he will leave Real Madrid at the end of this season, forcing Los Blancos to look for a replacement.
Nacho has been with Real Madrid since 2011, making 233 appearances for the club and winning 13 trophies, including 2 Champions Leagues. However, he has not been a regular starter in recent seasons and has decided to seek a new challenge.
“I have decided that this is the right time for me to challenge myself somewhere else,” Nacho told Marca. “I will always be grateful to Real Madrid for giving me the opportunity to play for the best club in the world. I have had some great memories here and I will never forget them.”
Nacho’s departure will leave a big hole in Real Madrid’s squad. He is a versatile defender who can play at both center back and right back. He is also an experienced player who is well-respected by his teammates.
Real Madrid are being linked with a number of potential centre-backs to replace Nacho. Some of the names mentioned include Pau Torres (Villarreal), Jurrien Timber (Ajax) and Josko Gvardiol (RB Leipzig).
Pau Torres is a young Spanish centre-back who plays for Villarreal. He is highly rated for his passing ability and tactical awareness. Jurrien Timber is a Dutch centre-back who plays for Ajax. He is considered one of the most promising young centre-backs in Europe. Josko Gvardiol is a Croatian centre-back who plays for RB Leipzig. He is known for his aerial ability and pace.
Real Madrid’s choice of who to replace Nacho will depend on a number of factors, including budget, the team’s needs and the player’s desire. However, one thing is for sure: Los Blancos will need to find a quality player to ensure stability in their defense.
