Sean Kingston, one of the pioneers of the reggae fusion movement, has changed many people’s ideas about what normal Jamaican music is. When a music executive found him on MySpace in his late teens, he became well-known. Sean made his radio debut with his first smash song, “Beautiful Girls,” in 2007. Sean has remained significant in contemporary hip-hop and reggae since then, and his notoriety has enabled him to explore other projects.Although Sean was born in Miami, he spent his early years in Jamaica. In his early years, his family experienced financial hardship, and the aspiring artist was even arrested for breaking and entering. Sean, though, wanted to become well-known. Sean Kingston, the album he self-titled, gave him his big break in 2007. Sean is still producing songs with a hip-hop and rap influence but with a Jamaican flavor.
