Senegal Soccer Star Sadio Mane Enters ‘Arranged Marriage’ with 18-Year-Old, Skipping Dating due to Age Difference

Mane, 31, and Aissata Tamba, 18, exchanged vows in a private ceremony held in Keur Massar, Dakar, a few days prior to the commencement of the Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.

Following the low-key ceremony in Senegal, which was attended by family and close friends, an image of the beaming couple was captured.

It was discovered that the two met via Mane’s agent, who had a friendship with the father of Aisha’s construction supervisor when she was 16 years old.

Although there have been conflicting rumors that his daughter is 19 years old, Aisha’s father, Amadou Tamba, stated that the couple was introduced “more than two years ago” and that his daughter is now 18 years old.

It is believed that the couple concealed their relationship prior to their nuptials; however, Mr. Tamba asserts that they never dated prior to their matrimonial union.

The agreement to wed Aisha reportedly occurred while she was still in school, but both families decided to postpone it until she turned 18; Mane would be responsible for her financial obligations.

Mr. Tamba, a builder, further stated, “She voluntarily agreed based on his values and everything she had heard about him.” However, as parents, we also advised and guided her to make her own decision. “God acted in her best interest.”

In contrast to her sports celebrity spouse, Aisha maintains a low profile and does not maintain a presence on social media platforms.

Sadio disclosed to local media after the nuptials that he was ecstatic to have received so many congratulations.

“Honestly, I am happy [with] the fact the president has congratulated me just as much as, well, I would say not just my team-mates,” he stated.

“I think that all the people have congratulated me and wished me [luck] so I am happy and I hope that it’ll be okay.”

In addition, Mane trivialized jests concerning his matrimonial union with his 18-year-old spouse while Senegalese president Macky Sall received the national team in advance of AFCON.

“First of all, I would like to warmly congratulate our national Nianthi, Sadio Mane, who has just got married,” Sall declared.
