Centaur is a beautiful little dog who, from the first moment he arrived at the Austin Animal Center rescue facility, showed a certain fascination with buckets of water. Inside the shelter’s facilities, the staff strives to keep everything spotless, especially the playgrounds where the furry dogs are so happy.
In this space there are always buckets of water ready for cleaning, but for our naughty protagonist the buckets have another function, for Centaur they are something magical that he only wants for himself, he loves to bathe in the bucket even though he can only put his adorable little paws inside. This beautiful little dog arrived at the shelter as a stray on St. Patrick’s Day, and since then he hasn’t stopped winning everyone over with his antics.
Shelter doggy has his own pool but prefers to bathe in a small bucket.

Kelsey Cler, marketing and communications program manager at Austin Animal Center, commented:
“Centaur is a total goofball. He’s smart and has a lot of energy, so he’s starting to get into trouble at the shelter the longer he’s here. He loves to play fetch and once he gets his energy out, he’s a great little bear.”

From the first moment this adorable ball of fur discovered the bucket, every time he goes out in the yard he just wanted to be inside the bucket. When Centaur first discovered the water bucket it was in early May, when Texas was going through a heat tail. The little dog with every intention of cooling off discovered the water bucket and it has since become his favorite place.
“I think he just wanted to cool his paws in the water,” said Cler.

This beautiful ball of fur is 4 years old, his story became known after the shelter published some pictures of him through social networks, internet users moved by the reaction of the little dog started a campaign to buy him his own pool, this way, he would have much more space to play in the water. In record time they managed to get him a pool, but Centaur’s reaction was not what everyone expected.
Centaur kept using the small bucket even though he had a bone-shaped pool all to himself. Austin Animal Center commented:
“When we posted Centaur a few weeks ago, some of you reasonably suggested that we get him a pool. Well, it turns out Centaur is a certified weirdo – come get a dog with personality!”

It took this fluffy little furry fellow a little while to adjust to the new pool, but he finally gave it a new lease on life, mind you, without giving up his little bucket. Centaur has found the perfect way to split his time between the bucket and the pool.
“He loves the pool now. He especially likes to shake for treats and of course, roll around in the dirt once he gets out. But he still likes to go to the bucket even with a pool available.”

This little dog has proven to be very curious with rather peculiar tastes. Despite being so adorable, he has yet to find a family that will love him forever. The shelter staff remains hopeful that he will soon be the spoiled member of a home.
“He’s looking for an active family that will take him on adventures. He may be too much for toddlers just because of his energy level and vitality – whoever adopts him will get the silliest boy.”
Hopefully this adorable furball will make it to adoption and spend the rest of his life being the most loved and spoiled furball.
