Charlie was 10 years old when his owners decided to adopt a kitten they named Scout. At first they had their doubts, because as you know in some cases the combination of kittens and dogs is not very fortunate.

However, and to the complete peace of mind of this family, the case of Charlie and Scout was exceptional from the very first second. Despite the fact that the dog of the house was already a little older, his age did not prevent him from loving Scout and playing with her in his own way.

The family of this pair of extraordinary pets was truly touched by their unconditional friendship. The kitty was always by her beloved Charlie’s side and there was nothing in the world that made her happier than napping next to him.

Everything seemed to indicate that they were born together and that there would be no force in the world capable of separating them, but life sometimes has other designs and we have no choice but to accept reality.

Charlie was diagnosed with cancer. The family was truly devastated, but they didn’t know how little Scout, who was so young and full of life compared to her beloved companion, would take the situation.

Charlie and Scout shared every second of life the dog had left, until the most bitter moment came. The kitty’s good friend died, leaving a void at home that would be very difficult to overcome.

Desperate to find a way to bring comfort to Scout, Charlie’s owner had an idea: play videos of the dog on his tablet. When the kitty heard her inseparable companion barking, her reaction was heartwarming.

She ran to the device and stayed with him for a long time. She purred and rubbed up against it, as if the tablet was the personification of good Charlie. It wasn’t the same as having the dog back, but it was a good comfort after all.

With Scout a little more upbeat, the family decided to make another decision: bring home a new puppy. They knew nothing would be able to take Charlie’s place, but it was worth a try.
