People in the town of Carmen del Parana, Itapua region in southern Paraguay were horrified when they discovered the body of a mysterious creature in the shape of a person washed up on the bank of a stream here.

The image of the body floating on the water was captured by cameras, then posted on the Internet and quickly attracted attention.

Many locals believe that this is the body of Chupacabra – a mythical creature of Latin America, specializing in sucking the blood of goats. When zooming in on the images in the video, viewers can see the corpse has human-like hands.

After receiving the news, the Carmen del Parana town rescue team was at the stream to retrieve the body and bring it to experts for an autopsy.

The head of the rescue team, Javier Medina, said: “Based on the characteristics of the body, we believe it to be that of a monkey species, because of the shape of the hands and feet. But in fact, there is still no definitive conclusion, because the body was discovered in a state of severe decomposition.”

Forensic expert Pablo Lemir said: “The body looked like a humanoid monkey. But the decomposition has changed its external characteristics.”

Despite the lack of an official conclusion, many local people interviewed are still convinced that this is Chupacabra ‘s body .

The Chupacabra is a mythical creature that is said to still inhabit Latin America. This creature usually hunts goats for blood, and its name Chupacabra also means “Goat bloodsucker.”

Like the Yeti or Bigfoot, the Chupacabra’s existence has not been scientifically proven, although there are many rumors claiming that they are real.
