Animal lovers all over the world were overjoyed lately when they saw a video of an abandoned puppy being rescued and given a second chance at life. The footage was provided by Takis Shelter, a non-profit animal rescue organization in Greece.

In the footage, a white puppy is seen sitting in a basic cardboard box outside a supermarket. According to the shelter, this sad dog was abandoned in the hopes that shoppers would help her and possibly adopt her. Unfortunately, she seemed to go unnoticed.

People in Greece are accustomed to seeing and hearing abandoned animals, according to the shelter, because there are so many on the streets. It’s unsurprising that they frequently pass right past these unfortunate creatures, hardly even looking at them.

Takis, the founder of Takis Shelter, leapt in to save the dog, which turned out to be a blessing. He gave the puppy the name Maisie and brought her home with him. She was courteous and nice despite the fact that she had been abandoned. She was happy to meet new people at the shelter and play with them, especially a dog named Ozzy.

Takis Shelter and the kind couple who rescued and adopted the puppy are to be commended. We’re glad to hear Maisie is now having the wonderful life she deserves. She’ll never cry alone again, like when she was abandoned outside the store.
