It is devastating for a dog to be abandoned by its family. Some families may refuse to care for sick or elderly dogs, but they don’t realize the amount of misery they cause the dog when they abandon him.

Ray, an 8-year-old Labrador retriever, was found wandering alone on the streets of Torrance, California, after being abandoned by his family. His eyes were sad and he was very skinny after starving on the streets totally homeless.

Ray’s look of sadness corroborates how much he has suffered on the streets.

In the video in which we can see Ray on the van of one of the volunteers of Carson Shelter in California, after being captured on the streets, one thing jumps out: the look of this Labrador is really touching.

The sadness in him is evident, as well as some other health issues. His eyes look irritated, with discharge, much of his fur, especially on his tail and hind legs, has fallen out, as a result of a deep irritation in his skin.

Ray is skinny, sick and above all, very sad.

As if all this were not enough, it is evident that Ray is malnourished and very skinny for a dog of his size and build. This made the people who rescued him think that the pet had already been living on the streets for a good amount of time.

If there is one thing that is evident in Ray, it is his kindness. He is an extremely sweet and peaceful dog, so the volunteers who were in charge of rescuing him from the streets did not have a hard time catching him.

The shelter volunteers helped Ray regain some of his health, but he was still depressed. It was clear that he was a very sensitive dog and in desperate need of the warmth of a loving family.

The dog was rescued in early January and before the end of the month, he was ready to go to a good home. The dog was properly fed and given medical treatment, especially for his skin problems.

Ray was put up for adoption a few days after his rescue.

Carson Shelter knew the challenge of placing an 8-year-old dog for adoption. Unfortunately, many pets of this age often remain until the end of their days in such enclosures, waiting for a family that never comes.

Hopefully all people learn from dogs to love unconditionally, none should stay in the shelter because they are rejected because of their age, appearance or health condition.

However, the look on Ray’s face was the ticket to his happiness. The tenderness of this dog, as well as his irremediable sadness, meant that in a very short time Ray was adopted by the right family, living his second chance at happiness.

Ray’s love for humans has not changed at all and even less so now that he believes in them again after having found a new family that loves him as he deserves, unconditionally.

The dog’s nobility and sad look has touched the hearts of thousands of people.

The sad expression on this dog’s face represents thousands of abandoned animals waiting for the chance to have the love of a family.

Luckily, this little dog had a happy ending and will be able to overcome his hard past by regaining joy and hope.

They all deserve to be loved and protected, and above all, to have people who look after their well-being and health.
