The arrival of a new member of the family is always cause for celebration but also for everyone to get excited. And that’s why this little dog can’t tear herself away from her owner since she began to notice that something strange was happening in her belly.
Some doubt that the canine understands what is happening but what can’t be denied is how touching she looks while listening to her next baby brother.
This little dog is an example of pure loyalty to her baby brother before she even meets him.

Her name is Avon, a husky whose human mom Shea Haugen is shocked by the personality change she’s undergone in the last few months of pregnancy.
As it turns out, the cute little dog used to be just as beautiful but energetic and outgoing, Avon didn’t have a quiet moment during the day but the picture changed as her belly grew.
The puppy discovered the peace of resting her little ear on mommy’s belly.

Since she became aware of what was happening with her human, the puppy has become a furry protector. To the family, it’s clear that she’s exercising her role as a big sister.
“I think she first realized she was pregnant when she was between 14 [and] 15 weeks because she would normally jump up and down a lot, but she started being more gentle,” Shea explained.

The puppy’s new favorite activity is listening to the baby in her mom’s belly, and this surprised the owner so much that she decided to record it. Who would imagine that a canine would behave like this in the face of a situation like this?
“She definitely ducks her head to listen to him and gets very excited when he kicks. That’s usually when her tail starts wagging uncontrollably,” Shea related.

Avon is just a puppy, so her energy is understandable, but she has always been the spoiled baby of the family.
She may not know it, but now she will have to share with her parents, although this is not something that worries Shea, since she has already put on her best protective sister suit.
She doesn’t want to leave her owner’s side for anything in the world.

Shea also finds it curious that her unborn baby seems to be able to recognize when the dog is near, because as soon as this happens she starts kicking inside her tummy.
“It’s pretty funny, my baby seems to like being able to give her a good kick every time she rests her head on my tummy,” Haugen said.

Still unborn, Shea predicts lots of fun in her home and is confident that the puppy and her son will get along wonderfully.
That has kept her calm during her pregnancy, and she’s not willing to let go of her pet for anything. Avon has been her companion for a couple of years now, and both she and her husband are grateful for that.
For them it is an important part of the family, as it should be.

Another thing that has become clear to the mother-to-be is that her dog has an incredible intelligence, and the change of attitude she has shown in the last few months is due to it.
Gone is the hyperactive Avon who used to chase Mom to invite her to play or bark at her to take her leash and take her to the park. She understands that her owner is not in the mood for long jogs now, so they are enjoying her growing belly in the passivity of their home.
Very soon this husky will meet the little creature she has listened to with curiosity these last few months and hopefully she will continue to be so protective, lovingly exercising her role as big sister. This baby will be fortunate to have the best companion for his adventures because both he and the dog are a blessing for his mother.
We are happy to see families growing and not leaving their pets aside, Avon will surely have a lot of work to do now but she will know where to focus her energy.
