When a cat loves, it loves unconditionally, beyond its own life. As a faithful feline in Buenos Aires, Argentina, has shown after the sudden death of his owner.

Toby the cat loved his human mom deeply.

Toby is a beautiful bicolor kitten who recently faced the worst thing that can happen to a pet: losing his human mother, with whom he always played and cuddled. They created a bond so strong that it can never be matched.

The story between Toby and his mom began when he was just a baby and enjoyed playing with sheets of paper and other possessions of his human. As he grew up, he became a strong, healthy cat who just wanted to spend time with his family: mom, siblings and even a protective grandmother.

When Toby’s mom passed away, no one in his family could believe it.

Elizabeth Garvez is Toby’s human sister. They were both devastated when their mom lost her life and the only way they have found to heal from the loss is to comfort each other.

Since the day of the tragedy, Toby stands over Elizabeth’s body and gently strokes her with his little paws to make her feel that he is with her and will remain by her side forever, like the sweet siblings they are.

“He calms me down on crisis days. We both miss mommy so much,” Elizabeth wrote.

In addition to gentle caresses, Toby fills Elizabeth with kisses and follows her around the house no matter what she does, and has even become a favorite babysitter and playmate for their daughters who love to dance.

Fortunately, Elizabeth and Toby still have their grandmother with them. She takes care of them in her daughter’s absence and keeps her memory intact; as demonstrated in a video that went viral on social media.

They put in front of Toby a garment of their deceased human and his reaction left them speechless.

Although 3 months have passed since the passing of his mom, Toby has not forgotten neither her image nor her scent. And when his grandmother placed in front of him an object she used to hold her hair, the feline could feel her scent immediately.

The little one gently leaned over the object; he let himself fall on it again and again, as if caressing the one who cared for him for so long. None of those present could believe their eyes.

Toby closed his eyes and stroked his mom’s object.

Elizabeth recorded Toby’s reaction. She shared it on her TikTok account and thousands of netizens were touched to see his unconditional loyalty. Many claim that the woman was there and that’s why the kitten looked up to see her.

She has always shown great catlike sensibility

Almost at the end of the recording, the kitten was staring straight in front of him without anything that could make him turn; that’s why the conclusion reached by his family is that, indeed, his mom is with them, taking care of them, even though they can’t see her.
