For a new mother, having all the medical and emotional support at the time of delivery is priceless.
Knowing that she will soon finally be able to hold her baby in her arms, she values having the people she trusts most by her side to make her feel safe and secure.
But when this woman was allowed to bring her four-legged best friend into the delivery room, no one could have imagined what was about to happen.
Max entered the delivery room to support Mom in the happiest moment of her life.
For Hannah and her boyfriend, Lucas Spadafora, from Ontario, Canada, being parents was nothing new.
While they were expecting their long-awaited baby for the first time, they already had their “first child,” a beautiful black dog named Max.
And as such, he was a fundamental part of their lives, so as a member of the family, he was there to welcome his little sister Blair, right in the delivery room, no less.
Blair came into the world in December 2021, but it was only recently that her parents decided to broadcast the scenes of Max’s presence at the birth of the little girl. Since then, they have become a viral phenomenon on social networks.
The love that Lucas and Hannah had for their faithful Max was so great that they could do nothing but include him in such an important family event.
In the scenes you can see the dog supporting his mom in the hours leading up to the event. Hannah used a birthing ball to achieve dilation. And at that crucial moment, Max seemed to understand that she needed it.
He reached out to his owner to shower her with kisses and make her feel that he was there with her at her side.
However, these are images that have sparked a controversial debate in the networks, as many will consider it inappropriate that something like this was allowed in a sterile environment as the delivery room should be.
Hours later, when Blair finally came into the world, an ecstatic Max can be seen with his two little paws on mom’s bed, contemplating his new baby sister, as if he didn’t believe he had already become a big brother.
But, no one imagined what was about to happen when they left the baby in her crib, and the dog approached her little face….
Immediately, in several scenes collected from Blair’s first hours in the hospital and later, already at home, you can see Max approaching directly towards the baby’s mouth, to fill her with kisses.
Evidently, you can see that there is nothing but love and tenderness there. Her owners couldn’t be happier to know that their little Blair will grow up with a wonderful pet who will be her unconditional playmate and adventure companion.
However, Lucas never imagined that after broadcasting the scenes, they would become the target of criticism, which never stops:
“I love animals but I do not see healthy that a dog enters an operating room and on top of that they let him lick the baby, no matter how clean the dog is they are full of bacteria, they in their place and I in mine. And that doesn’t make you love them any less,” said one Internet user.
“Babies don’t have antibodies”, “The baby’s mom got her tongue up to her gullet”, “Animal love is wonderful, but everything has a limit”, “Dogs are very jealous, don’t forget that”, were other criticisms.

But, others came out in his defense saying that if the dog had permission to be there, why does he bother people so much. “As if I take him to the beach too. And let those who are not civilized put up with it.”
The important thing is that you can tell that neither Max nor little Blair will lack love in their lives. Having a loving and protective dog for the children is one of the most wonderful things that can happen to a family. Don’t you think so?
