A dog’s life can take many turns and even more so when, for one reason or another, he ends up on the streets. The following story is an imminent reflection of this situation but with an unexpected and happy ending.
Since last year there has been a furry dog in the cages of the Wisconsin Humane Society shelter waiting for a chance and finally his turn came.
The 4 year old doggy is named Payday and with a sad experience on the streets in his loin.

The dog arrived at the shelter after a woman decided to surrender him. According to what she told at the time, she had found him in a street situation in a desolate area and decided to rescue him. She took him home and tried to give him a home, but things did not turn out as she expected.
The puppy could not adapt to the new family nucleus and had some dangerous attitudes. It seems that Payday felt at ease with the girl, but not with other people and could range from shyness to anger.
Typical reactions of a furry that has suffered.

Much to Samaritan’s regret, she didn’t know how to handle the situation and decided to take him to the shelter. After a few weeks of training, the caregivers were able to gain his trust and, despite his distrust of humans, Payday began to open up.
At that point everyone at the shelter believed he was ready to be adopted and he made the list of furry dogs looking for a home, but no one had taken a real interest in him.
The days at the shelter passed uneventfully for this dog.

As a strategy to speed up the process, the shelter’s media director thought that a little publicity would do the case a lot of good and Payday was featured on a national newscast. At that instant something unexpected happened for everyone.
“We were told that one of your viewers, Dwight, called because he recognized the dog we had featured,” wrote Wisconsin Humane Society in a Facebook post.

One girl had seen the dog adoption section of the newscast and knew that little ball of fur was her missing pet.
“Dwight normally turns his TV off every night, but he must have left it on by accident, or maybe thanks to fate. It only took one glance at the picture for Dwight to immediately recognize Payday,” the post continued.
This dog has a distinctive bite due to a small deviation in its lower palate, so upon seeing it the little girl had no doubt that it was her old pet and told her mom, Melissa, about it.
The mother was the one who called the channel and began the process to recover Payday.

In fact, Melissa herself drove to another city to visit the puppy at the shelter. Although she was sure it was the same dog, the workers had to verify that the story was true.
Payday had apparently gotten lost after a nighttime walk with little Dwight, and although the family had searched for him, they were never able to find him until today.
Two years after that night, the little girl recognized her pet on television.

When the woman arrived at the shelter there was no doubt that her story was real.
“You could tell he recognized her right away, and it was such a happy reunion. It was magical. Most people know animal shelters as places where animals are adopted, but reuniting lost animals with their families is a fundamental part of our work. Any time we can reunite an animal with its family, it’s a memorable occasion…It was a privilege to witness,” said Speed.
The little dog got his old life back and received a warm welcome back to the home he should never have left. Payday is now back to his routine and has shown himself to be a lovely furry boy, nothing like the sad dog at the shelter.
What a joy that this boy had a happy ending, to avoid these things it is good to identify our furry one with a chip.
