Puppies are the most loyal creatures a person can count on in this world, even when they have left it. This is the story of Benito, a loyal poodle who refuses to forget his human mother who passed away more than four years ago. And to keep her memory alive, the black poodle constantly visits the grave where her remains rest.

For this little dog, going to the cemetery means being able to hug his mother inside the coffin.

Benito lives in Villaguay, Entre Ríos (Argentina), with Ismael and Belén Duré, the father and sister of his late owner, Johana Duré. This little dog shared the first two years of his life with his human mother and quickly established a bond that not even death has been able to break and he shows it in the most special way.

In a touching video that quickly went viral on Twitter, the love story of this little guy and his deceased owner is told.

The family usually takes the little dog incognito to the cemetery so he can be reunited with Johanna and before arriving, he seems to know perfectly well his destiny.

In the recording shared by Belén, the woman describes part of the routine: “We took Benito hidden in the bag”. The child was very excited and anxious to visit his mother, due to the pandemic the family had almost four months without going to the cemetery and Benito was the one who missed it the most.

The little dog climbs up to and insistently looks for his mom.

“Shall we go see mom?”, asks the young girl while the dog runs to where Johana’s remains rest. Once inside, the father takes Benito in his arms and lifts him up to the urn of the deceased.

The little dog, who was anxious at first, calms down and rests his body on the coffin as if he were lying on his mommy’s chest.

The images are more than emotional, so it is not surprising that they spread quickly on social networks. The story of the puppy has touched everyone and in communication with a local media, Ismael revealed some details about the death of his daughter.

Johana was born without a right ventricle and underwent open heart surgery when she was just a baby; at the age of 5 she went back to the operating room and from then on she lived a normal life. However, at the age of 25 she suffered a stroke and her health problems returned.

Johana died at a very young age.

“At the age of 25, she started to have problems again. Her heart became very enlarged and an operation had to be performed, which the doctors were reluctant to do because of its complexity. In 2016 they decided to operate on her, she was hospitalized for several days, but died on April 7,” the father revealed.

Belén said that “Benito was a gift from her partner, in November 2014. She had him as a son. From that moment on they were super companions, united”.

When Johana died, the family chose to make the puppy part of the funeral ceremonies, as they knew that this would have been the young woman’s last wish.

Benito was just a puppy when he came into Johana’s arms.

“When he passed away, we took him to the wake, we took him to where he was and he kept crying. From then on, we took him every week to see her at the cemetery. When we arrive, he jumps out of the car and already knows the way to the cemetery. When he sees that we are cutting flowers to take to her, he already knows that we are going to visit her”, said Belén.

More than 4 years have passed since Johana Roda departed this world but she is still alive in the memory of those who loved her and Benito is one of the beings who loved her with all his heart. The loyalty of this little dog is incredible and demonstrates one of the great reasons why it will always be worthwhile to give them a home.
