It’s hard to believe, but some people are capable of completely ignoring an animal in distress. One man heard an insistent meowing in the streets and decided to go over to find out what it was. When he found the kitten he was heartbroken.

The kitten was rescued in the city of Jakarta, Indonesia.

It was a kitten completely stuck in a water bottle. The young man knew he had to do something as soon as possible. He studied the kitten’s situation but thought that the rescue would be too delicate and it would be best to call in the specialists. He took the huge bottle and drove to a fire station to ask them for help.

“The young man said that he himself wanted to free the kitten but he was afraid of hurting it more than it was already hurt,” explained officer Eko Sumarno.

There they did not hesitate to give as much time as necessary to the beautiful gray kitten. The poor thing was very frightened. His little head had managed to get out, but his neck was completely trapped in the narrowest part of the bottle.

The pressure on the kitten’s neck made it hard to breathe.

The firefighters decided it would be best to open the back of the bottle to give the kitten a little more security. They then set about finding the right tools to continue with the neck area.

Many pedestrians had seen the trapped kitten and simply decided to go on their way.

It was a particularly delicate task, because if they made the slightest false move they could end the kitten’s life. To avoid any accidents, they inserted a spoon over the kitten’s head. This way they would know if the little saw got too close.

The rescue operation took about 30 minutes.

Finally the cute kitty was found completely free. Throughout the whole process he was very well behaved and kept uttering little meows that sounded like a tender plea for help to the firefighters. The young man who found the kitten in the bottle decided to stay throughout the whole process. Once the furry little guy was free he lovingly took him into his arms and decided he would adopt him.

“If someone did this deliberately, that person is capable of anything,” lamented one user on the networks.

This lucky kitten managed to survive a truly dangerous situation and also got a forever home. Firefighters shared footage of the rescue and are asking for information from anyone who may have witnessed the kitten’s terrible accident.
