The images swiftly went viral in numerous countries, including Korea, Japan, Thailand, and even Vietnam, arousing the curiosity of netizens who yearn to know the narrative behind this endearing incident.

According to the page Los Tiempos, these photos were indeed captured by photographer Luis Fernando Chumacero on the streets of Tupiza, Bolivia, during the quarantine period in response to the epidemic. Contrary to initial speculation, the fawn dog seen in the images is not a stray but a cherished pet residing in the barracks. Her name is Gorda. “Each regiment adopts dogs, and they live alongside the soldiers, sharing their meals and participating in training just like any other soldier,” explained Colonel Luis Pacheco, the Director of the Department Army Logistics IV.

When the Covid-19 outbreak occurred, and the soldiers began their patrols to combat the epidemic, Gorda instinctively ran after them. Witnessing her enthusiasm to join them, the soldiers in the vehicle decided to pick her up and bring her along. It was during this heartwarming moment that the photographer fortuitously captured the scene, forever preserving the bond between Gorda and her “brothers” in the army.

When the Covid-19 epidemic broke out, seeing the soldiers patrolling against the epidemic, Gorda ran after him. Seeing his “brother” eager to follow, the soldiers in the car picked him up and went with him. The lovely moment accidentally caught the photographer’s lens.

As soon as Gorda got into the car, another gray dog also ran over and wanted to go with him. This is a dog named Multicam – also the mascot of another division.
