A blind and deaf puppy is happy because she couldn’t have found a better adventure companion than a generous and kind puppy who gives her unstinting love and loyalty.
The name of these charming animals is Tamale and Jimmy, a pair of canines who have surprised their families with their bond and are now determined to inspire the world.
The deaf and blind puppy’s life would not be the same without the help of her canine brother.

Tamale was adopted from Speak for the Unspoken dog rescue when she was just 4 months old. Kayleigh Otstot, the woman who adopted her, fell in love with her from the very first moment and was also touched by the pup’s condition.
The furry girl is blind and deaf from birth, she doesn’t know what the world around her looks or sounds like, but that hasn’t been a drawback for her. Far from what anyone would think, Tamale is a happy puppy.
And the reason for her happiness is due in no small part to her adventure companion, Jimmy.
Tamale is an outgoing puppy who likes to interact with people, especially children, and who also has no problem meeting other puppies. That’s why it was easy for her to strike up a friendship with one of the dogs she used to see in the park.
This bond between the dogs is now more than a year old and has brought two families together to strengthen the bond between this furry pair.

Kayleight told us a little about how this friendship began.
“Jimmy and Tamale met at the dog park over a year ago. Originally, Jimmy’s mom, Melinda, and I were planning to meet at the dog park. Then we started taking the two for walks together and it all went from there. They see each other at least once a week, if not more,” Otstot said.
The curious thing in this case is not the closeness between the puppies, but that Jimmy seems to understand that Tamale is a little different dog and has created a routine to calm her anxiety.

When the families agree to meet in the car, gentlemanly Jimmy waits for the puppy and, as soon as he sees the car is parked, runs to greet Tamale.
The puppy has a sweet way of telling him she has arrived and that is by lightly tapping his nose to tell him it’s time for fun.
Immediately, Tamale gets excited and greets him.

The puppy gets excited and gets out of the car, while her owners wonder how they do it. Jimmy seems to understand that Tamale can’t see or hear him and resorts to touch to get noticed. A clever and touching strategy indeed
Before she met Jimmy, Tamale’s owner worried about taking her out because of the reaction she sometimes gets from other dogs in the park.

But now the puppy is protected and accompanied by the Golden retriever who won her friendship.
Living with a puppy like Tamale has been a learning experience for Otstot. Although the furry one can often look quite normal.

“He often runs into things, but other than that, I see him as a completely normal dog – a lot of times when people meet him, they say they would never know!” said Kayleigh Otstot.
The friendship of these little dogs shows us that when there is love, there is no distinction. Jimmy was able to adapt to his best friend’s condition, how is it that we humans have such a hard time reaching levels of understanding like this dog?

Undoubtedly, there will always be something new to learn from them and that is why Jimmy and Tamale’s mothers wanted to share their story of solidarity.
