Although some people underestimate the intelligence of animals and their ability to communicate and express their emotions, they are capable of showing what they feel, protecting the ones they love and satisfying their needs by asking for help.

The reaction of one little dog when she finally received the help she so desperately needed leaves no one indifferent: she burst into tears excited that she and the puppies she was waiting for would be safe.

“I noticed that Poppy had tears coming out of her eyes. I don’t think I’ve ever seen that in a dog,” said Jack Anderson, who rescued the puppy with his wife.

The couple were having lunch at a fast food restaurant when they noticed someone watching them.

A large black dog was on the floor under the counter stools staring at them as they ate fried chicken at a casual street stand.

“It never took its eyes off us, but it didn’t approach us or ask for food,” Jack Anderson said in an interview.

“The owners of the restaurant came out and shooed the little dog down the sidewalk. It was obvious she was scared and disappeared,” he added.

But the couple saw the puppy again when they were on their way home, they noticed she was pregnant, they knew she needed help right away.

“My wife took the leftover food and I walked over to her to give it to her. The puppy was very nervous, but we could see some of the scars on her skin and so we totally understood that she didn’t find it easy to trust humans,” said Jack.

She was indeed cautious because she had known the worst side of humanity and was trying to keep herself safe.

Jack and his wife tried hard to gain the poor nervous dog’s trust and managed to convince her to take the food out of their hands.

They let the dog eat and then lifted her into their car, Poppy felt out of danger. She knew they were good people, she cried with excitement.

The poor thing was finally in a warm, safe environment. The pain and helplessness would be behind her, for the little dog the most important thing was to make sure her puppies were born out of danger, she knew that if she didn’t get help in time they would be safe.

“We simply paused in the moment to allow the puppy to calm down for a moment, but honestly, she was much more relaxed than I expected,” said Jack.

He pulled out his cell phone to capture the scenes that have captivated thousands of people for the adorable reaction of the little dog who will forever be grateful that they were not indifferent to her pain.

“I started recording the video of my wife comforting her and I noticed that Poppy had tears coming out of her eyes. Luckily, she was relatively healthy,” he added.

The little dog spent several days with them, taking turns caring for her. She slept most of the time and got used to the couch very quickly, she loved it.

But little by little Poppy recovered until she showed her will to live, played happily and got into mischief.

After suffering so much, the dog finally met unconditional love.

Poppy’s puppies will be in the care of Jack and his wife until they are ready to be adopted.

The mother will never have to contemplate the option of returning to the streets.

“Poppy will stay with us. We’re learning about her all the time and building trust with her,” Anderson said.

The couple understands the puppy’s suffering and wants her to receive love until her last breath. With their simple gesture, they changed her fate forever.
