A sweet little dog has been waiting eagerly for someone to decide to open the doors of their home and heart to change his fate, but unfortunately it has been a long time without that happening.
There is a shelter where a sweet dog has had to wait for years for an adoption appointment. This is the story of Coco, a furry little guy who resides at the Main Line Animal Rescue shelter, located in Pennsylvania, USA.
The dear, sweet puppy is not giving up hope of being adopted.

The beautiful specimen was left there by his former family, who opted not to take care of the poor animal anymore. He has been waiting patiently for two long years for someone who decides to love him.

This little dog’s biggest dream is to find a new forever home. The goal of every shelter is to care for these animals until they are adopted. However, such seems to have been denied to Coco.

Two years ago, in 2019, Coco arrived at the Main Line Animal Rescue (MLAR) shelter, motivated by her family having to move to Connecticut. Because of these types of personal issues, they no longer had time to devote to her.

As is the case with the vast majority of animals who enter a shelter, its members hoped to find Coco a home quickly. Unfortunately, however, his story has been very different.

Unfortunately for the canine, as of today, it has been more than 730 days since Coco arrived. And the most surprising thing is that, during all this time, he has not had any adoption appointments.

It seems that no one is interested in his fate, although Coco still hopes to make his dream come true. He continues to wait for the perfect family to appear for him.

Coco is a very gentle and sweet dog, and he confidently approaches everyone he meets and greets them. Although, depending on the person’s vibe, it can sometimes take him a while to do so.

At first, he seems to be very shy, and this is precisely why the shelter volunteers believe Coco has not been able to get anyone to incur his adoption.

“Coco is very wary of strangers, but once he knows they mean him no harm and that he can trust them, he is silly, affectionate and playful,” said Heidi Mottin, MLAR volunteer.

But generally speaking, this dog is extremely social and loves to give kisses and snuggles left and right. When it’s time to explore the shelter’s outdoor surroundings, he is a very brave canine.

Coco is a large breed dog, but, he continues to exhibit this type of distrust. It is believed that he will take some time to adapt when he arrives at his future new home.

The truth is that most people who are looking for a dog for adoption prefer a dog that will quickly adapt to their life. So, with Coco, we will have to be more considerate and patient so that she can progress.

Perhaps Coco’s caution is due to the amount of time he spends in the shelter, where it is difficult to relax in the midst of so many other dogs. It’s a stressful place, but everyone believes Coco will be happy in a new place.

“Sweet Coco is used to the routine of shelter life. He seems resigned, and almost as if he’s given up on thinking there’s anything more to life,” Heidi added.

Although Coco is friendly with other dogs, it is best if he is the only one in his new home. But, in addition, it is required that it be in a place without so much commotion, so that he can fully get used to the change.

During all this time, the dog without an adoption appointment has developed a special bond with the shelter volunteers.
They love each other and show it every day. It is possible that, when she departs, Coco will leave a big void behind her.

Coco has had to wait a long time for the right family, but he will soon find one that loves him. Adopt an animal. If you are interested in Coco, you can go to the Main Line Animal Rescue website for more information.
