An elderly dog was on the verge of being euthanized due to her delicate health condition, but the arrival of angels saved her life and her story is very different now.

Whitney is a furry 13-14 year old who suffered the harshness of life on the streets, but this little girl did not give up and fought until her pleas were heard.

The dog showed the gallantry of which she was made.

The problem of stray dogs is quite serious around the world, although in some countries it is more alarming than in others, and this little dog was part of the statistics. Whitney was wandering alone and starving on American streets at a time when her life was running out.

Sick and out of breath, the furry dog was resigned to die, but a rescue group intervened.

They are the guys from This is Houston in Texas, who, upon seeing her, did not hesitate to rescue her. The dog was dehydrated and had skin lesions due to fleas and ticks that had invaded her body.

Because of these infestations, Whitney was quite anemic and dehydrated. In addition, she had contracted a deadly parasitic disease: heartworm.

Veterinarians had to fit a tube in her mouth to get her to feed, but no one knew if she would survive.

Much of the struggle was being waged by herself, but they didn’t know if she would have the strength to endure.

The dog was suffering and her chances of survival were dwindling, which is why at some point an auxiliary thought it best to euthanize her.

A just sacrifice to stop her pain and, at least, not to expose her to the suffering she had endured for so long.

The rescuers presume that this dog was someone’s pet, but they do not know what was the reason for her ending up in the street; if she had been stolen, lost or simply abandoned.

They only wanted the best for Whitney and this little girl made it clear to them that the best thing to do was to keep fighting.

The dog clung to life and with her efforts she made it impossible for them to give her the injection.

After a few days the dog managed to feed herself without the help of the tube, it was removed and the best of all is that Withney began to overcome the anemia she was suffering from.

Due to the complicated nature of the case, the shelter’s volunteers have been very attentive to this little girl and have been an important part of her improvement.

The dog has shown a change in her mood, now Whitney is more active and cheerful. It seems that the furry dog understands well and appreciates the efforts made for her, so the shelter volunteers have decided to take the next step in her story.

These angels are not trying to take the case off their hands, on the contrary, they are very attentive, because sadly Whitney’s terminal illness continues to lurk.

Nobody knows how much longer the dog will live, but at least they hope that her days will be filled with the love and protection she always deserved.

This girl went through very difficult situations when she was sick and homeless, the streets are not a shelter for anyone and even less for these creatures that cannot speak or defend themselves.
