Every time we see a puppy on the street, true animal lovers will always want to pet it.
While this encounter may be because the little furry one is enjoying a walk in the company of its owner, or in a more discouraging scenario of being abandoned, there are more extraordinary cases that confirm once again how intelligent and skillful our four-legged friends can be.
Boji, the adventurous puppy who travels on public transport in Istanbul.

While we may hear many stories about puppies, we rarely think that they like to travel alone.
This is the story of Boji, a little furry dog who has found the true pleasure of life traveling on public transport.
The case occurred in Istanbul, Turkey, where a stray dog uses different types of public transportation to travel around the city.

It didn’t take long for Boji’s routine to become evident among public transport users.
And how could it not, if it is an extremely intelligent dog that has earned the admiration and respect of all the locals by safely and independently using the subway, the tramway, the railroad and even the ferry.

The funny thing is that Boji seems to know exactly where he is going every time he gets on or off the train.
He knows the rules of public transportation, yields to disembarking passengers, waits behind the boarding line, and enters the train as soon as he understands that the entrance is clear for his entry.

While this beautiful furball has no single family to look after his welfare, he has the support of all the workers in the public transport department.
And, of course, of the users, who shower him with cuddles and do not stop talking about the little dog who knows how to get around on public transport.

Depending on the weather, Boji waits on the terrace if the day is cool, or enters the station if it is cold or raining, no matter where he is, he will always be contemplated and admired by those who look at him with love.
It is enough for the users to see him on board to take some pictures and want to spoil the little dog that unwittingly became a local celebrity.
The subway train area is known as bogie, in railway terminology, and bogie translates as boji in Turkish.

Fortunately, the Istanbul Municipality decided to put a tracker on it not only to record how far it travels daily but also to be able to know where it is.
Aylin Eron, Istanbul Metro staff commented on the matter:
“Two months ago, we noticed that a dog was trying to use our streetcars, subways and trains and knew where to go and where to leave. And it was really an interesting pattern. It’s kind of strange so it knows where to go and it has a purpose.”

After analyzing the chip, it was determined that Boji visits about 29 stops a day, traveling a distance of 30 kilometers a day. They also discovered that the M4 line is the doggie’s favorite.

This adventurous little dog was recently taken to the veterinary clinic and the check-up revealed that he had already been neutered.
Apparently, at some point he had someone looking out for his welfare. Chris McGrath, who has photographed the little dog on several occasions commented:
“He’s a free spirit. All he wants to do is ride on transportation. Every time he passes in front of a bus, van or any other mode of transport, he just wants to get on it. It’s really strange.
Today Boji remains the darling of all means of transport in Istanbul. Fortunately, he has a whole community that cares for him and is committed to seeing him healthy and happy.
An adventurous and free-spirited little dog who has won the hearts of an entire nation. Long live and good health to Boji!
