AN expectant mum was shocked when she saw an “alien” in her baby scan.
Sophie Scott, 16, from South Shields, Tyneside, said her joy at seeing her healthy daughter in an early scan quickly turned to shock when she saw a shape that resembled “ET”.
The first time mum, who is having the baby with partner Stephen, 24, said to the Mirror: “We could see these extra eyes just beyond the baby and its head was shaped like an alien.
“I had an ex who was really into aliens and demons so we were joking he’d put a curse on me.
“I was scared the alien would eat my baby.
“We were laughing but were still a bit freaked out as nobody could work out what it was.”
The little girl is due to be born in October and Sophie joked that the date is close to Halloween.
She said: “We just hope she’s not born on Halloween as that’d be too spooky”.
Thankfully medical staff confirmed the scan shows no signs of extra-terrestrial life.
It’s not the first time a scan has amused parents-to-be.
Last year a mum claims her ‘cheeky’ baby son hilariously ‘flipped the bird’ in his baby scan photo in revenge for doctors prodding and poking him all day.
Bethany Pollock had not yet seen a clear scan photo of her baby but was stunned when he appeared to flip the finger at her in his 20-week scan photo.
