A dog with a deep paternal instinct has won the admiration of his humans and acquaintances by deciding to adopt a creature very different from him.

This is a story of friendship and solidarity in which the differences between species took a back seat.

The dog’s name is Biu Biu, a rescued Labrador only 3 years old.

The little dog lives in Kandy, Sri Lanka, with his humans Dora Wei and Nuwan Hemachandraand.

The couple were arriving from their vacation when one of their gardeners surprised them with a helpless creature that had arrived disoriented at their home.

It was a wild boar that was only days old and whose eyes could not yet tolerate sunlight. At that moment, the woman and her husband decided to take charge and turned to the Internet to research its care.

The couple decided to adopt him.

Kandy suspected that he had been separated from his mother, so she didn’t want to leave him alone. But the woman never imagined that her little dog would also join in the care and attention for the baby boar.

Biu Biu accompanied the woman when it was time to feed and bathe the new member of the family, but she also took such a liking to him that she taught him to walk.

The boar named Yezhu took his first steps to the rhythm of his canine father.

The puppy and the couple became very fond of the creature and Kandy confesses that he didn’t even know what animal it was when he adopted it.

“It was the first time I had ever seen a wild boar. In fact, I first assumed it was a deer, but then I double-checked the nose and realized what it was. I was so shocked. I didn’t know what to do. We didn’t know if we should keep him or not. But he wouldn’t stop crying. It was a life or death situation. If we didn’t take care of him, he would probably die,” she explained.

Kandy didn’t think ahead and opened the doors of her home to him as a call from her heart. The good thing is that she is not alone to take care of Yezhu because her little dog accompanies her in such beautiful work.

“Our hearts melted when we saw Yezhu. He was so tiny that we wanted him to be like this forever,” she explained.

Besides Biu Biu in the house there are other dogs, but only the Labrador identified with the boar. For this little dog his role in Yezhu’s care is important and that is why he does not leave her side.

Although it is certainly the woman who makes sure to feed and bathe him, it was fortunate for her that he came home at the time of the pandemic.

Thanks to that, she had more free hours to take care of him.

“Fortunately, because of the pandemic, we had a lot of free time and we knew we couldn’t leave her because she would die. We checked online and soon found out that it is not easy to take care of a newborn, as they may not have taken their mother’s milk. She would wake up every two hours crying for food.”

During those days, the boar had to be fed every two hours and Kandy took turns with her husband during the nights but there was someone who would not rest and that was her little dog.

The furry one took him between his paws as if he were a son and that’s why the woman is not surprised that Yezhu today has the behavior of any other dog.

Only this one turned out to be a bit more rechochito and quite spoiled.

“With Yezhu, we had another dog. He was doing everything like them. I was walking next to them, playing with them. You see them running around together and he always wants to be with them. Within 30 minutes of letting Yezhu out of the crate, Ya was trying to get into Biu Biu’s mouth. It was so funny.

The puppy and the boar live happily together in the couple’s home. To avoid so much damage inside, Kandy built a house for them in the backyard, and Biu Biu and Yezhu thought it was an excellent idea.

Even the birthday of the youngest member, the boar, is celebrated in this family.

These little friends enjoy the quiet, outdoor life and have a bond that no one can break.
