This is how the head of a spear went through a bone during the Roman Gallic Wars.
It still remains in the bone after 2070 years. This photo has become viral with claims that it shows a spear from the Roman-Gallic Wars, which has penetrated a horse bone. This is however absolute nonsense in every single aspect. This is not a spearhead but an arrowhead.

Sometimes such arrowheads were also made from scrap metal by American Indians themselves. The bone is the thoracic vertebra of a bison, and the arrowhead has penetrated the elongated dorsal spine which forms the typical buffalo hump.
