When the owners of an older dog saw him return with a strange sign, they didn’t know what to believe. The first thing they did was to be relieved. They had been waiting for Louie with great concern. Then they decided to read the sign to look for an explanation.

The message they found on the sign left Louie’s owners dumbfounded.

Louie is a 12-year-old puppy who lives with the Diver family in New Zealand. He was adopted from a shelter when he was just a puppy and has had an adventurous life with his family.

He has always enjoyed adventuring for days at a time in the woods near his home, so his parents didn’t worry when it took him a couple of days to return.

However, since he was no longer as young a puppy as he used to be, his adventures began to become a thing of the past.

Marolyn Diver explained to the media that her mother had become concerned when she noticed that the dog hadn’t shown up for a whole afternoon.

In recent years, Louie preferred to stay at the door of the house, so they found it very strange that he didn’t show up. This was not normal behavior for the little dog, so it didn’t take long for them to suspect that something strange was going on. They were very worried.

The family’s fear was that the dog’s advanced age would make it difficult for him to find his way home.

Luckily, Louie came home. The family celebrated his arrival, but were concerned to see that he was extremely exhausted and appeared to collapse from exhaustion in the yard.

In addition, the dog had arrived with a strange sign. When they went over to read it, they couldn’t believe what it said and were touched by someone’s appreciation that their dog was a true hero:

“Louie is the hero of the day. He led me to my dog Maddy, who was stuck under a pile of logs. Congratulations. Rob.”

The note had been left by a farmer neighbor of the Diver’s. Minutes later they were able to talk to him on the phone and get more information about Noble Louie’s latest adventure.

Rob’s dog Maddy had been missing for days and they were unable to locate him until Louie came to their house and was very insistent that they follow him.

Rob followed him and they found Maddy in a place where the little girl was stuck and unable to move.

Louie was not content with just pointing out where she was, but also started moving logs and digging in the dirt until he was able to free Maddy.

Marolyn said that Rob was moved by the dog’s help and decided to reward him. If it weren’t for him, no one knows what would have become of Maddy.

“Rob gave Louie a nice dog cookie treat as a thank you. He knew that maybe Louie would get in trouble for coming home so late, so he decided to write a little note to explain his absence.”

Everyone was very proud to know that Louie had saved little Maddy’s life, but worried that she might not recover from such a great effort. Fortunately, the next day Louie received a visit from Maddy and his spirits began to improve more and more.

Louie and Maddy have been friends for many years.

Undoubtedly, these little dogs will always share a very special bond. Despite the years, Louie proved that his adventurous spirit is still intact, especially when it comes to helping those in need.

Everyone thought that Louie’s adventures were behind him, but at 12 years old, he proved that he could still be a hero: He saved a little dog’s life!
