Despite the fact that many innocent four-legged creatures fall into the hands of their worst executioners, they find heroes along the way willing to do anything to save them from their sad fate.

We will never be able to understand what the hearts of those who treat animals unjustly are made of; especially because they have no voice, they do not know how to defend themselves, nor have they done anything at all to deserve such humiliations that make us shudder.

Khan is a poor little dog who, after being beaten, was thrown like an old piece of cloth down a stream, in the middle of an unpopulated field in Valencia, Spain. There, certain death awaited him, had it not been for an angel who appeared at just the right moment.

He had been so badly mistreated that the poor creature was completely paralyzed.

Viktor Larkhill is an admirable rescuer known for changing the fate of thousands of mistreated animals, who together with the veterinarians of the Valencia South Veterinary Hospital, became Khan’s heroes.

He had completely lost his mobility, but luckily a great team of veterinarians worked very hard to bring him back to life.

As the friends at the Veterinary Hospital say, Khan’s story is one of the thousands of unforgettable stories they experience all too often, but what happened next is one of the most wonderful miracles they have ever experienced.

The prognosis was not good at all, but the great news was that Khan had another chance and he wasn’t going to miss it.

Although it was long weeks of hard battle, pain, tears and moments when the future seemed dark, the team of great professionals did not give up for a second. And their efforts began to pay off.

“Khan smiled and tried again and again… He never stopped fighting… He knew we would give him a chance to live, and he would cling to life with all his might,” Viktor commented.

And all of a sudden, Khan started wagging his tail What a thrill!

It was a moment when, frankly, his heroes burst into tears.

It was a difficult process, he needed several weeks of treatment and therapies but little by little he recovered and started to move.

He never lost his smile

It was great to see his evolution so favorable, and it was admirable to see reflected in his eyes so much desire to live.

He had the most tender and profound look that marked his angels forever.

Khan never gave up and with the effort and love of his caregivers, he was able to walk again, incredible!

It was the proof that with love and perseverance everything is possible.

It is amazing to see how he recovered and now begins for him a life where the pain will be in the past and he will be completely happy.

Always, always, always… Good will win out over the abusers and heartless who savage the most innocent without compassion. This is something that their rescuers want to remind the world, even though sometimes these cases depress us and we lose hope in humanity.
