What being is as faithful and unconditional as a puppy or a dog? Furry dogs are completely devoted to their humans. No matter what happens, they will always stay by our side, trying to protect us and giving us all their love.

This puppy refused to be separated from her sick owner.

At least, this is what a faithful dog in Brazil, who remained outside the door of a hospital for more than a month, despite being pregnant, proved.

The poor thing did not know that her beloved owner, with whom she shared thousands of happy moments, had already lost his life.

It all happened in Nerópolis, in the Metropolitan Region of Goiânia, when Menininha, as she was affectionately called by the employees of the Sagrado Coração de Jesus Hospital, appeared accompanying her faithful friend who was admitted for treatment of coronavirus.

Her owner went into ICU care and the little dog never saw him again.

So it was that, since last month, the little girl stood at the door of the hospital, waiting to see the man who was everything to her leave. Sadly, that never happened because he passed away days after being admitted.

“She arrived with the owner, when he entered the care room. Menininha went into the hospital several times and we had to kick her out, until the man came upstairs and went to the ICU. She never left the door and we decided to take care of her,” said cleaning worker Daniela Barbosa de Abreu.

Everyone at the hospital was shocked by her infinite fidelity.

Noticing her great concern and grief, the hospital workers began to give the little furry girl a lot of affection and care.

They made sure that she never lacked a good plate of food and plenty of water, since nothing kept her away from the entrance of the institution.

The story of this little girl’s loyalty did not take long to go viral on social networks. She could not stay any longer in the hospital, without a safe shelter, due to her advanced stage of gestation, and she was also infested with ticks. Luckily, a civil association decided to intervene to help her.

They raised 200 dollars to take care of Menininha.

The dog was also put up for adoption, in the hope that someone could open the doors of a home for her and her soon-to-be-born babies.

Finally, a few weeks ago she was able to sleep safely, confident that she will live surrounded by the same love she once gave to her former human.

“She requires special care for the next 28 days, because of her veterinary treatment, plus she is expecting puppies. Menininha is an example of perseverance and loyalty. Soon she will have puppies with the same qualities,” said André Fernandes, who was in charge of helping the puppy.

Undoubtedly, there is nothing like the friendship of an animal. Congratulations to Menininha and her babies, as well as to the lucky person who has received a furry angel in her home.

Truly, the faithfulness and loyalty of animals knows no bounds. We are sure that from heaven, her beloved human will be extremely happy that her little dog was not left homeless with her babies. There is no doubt that all those who helped her will receive a shower of blessings.

Remember that there are many animals like Menininha, waiting to be adopted to have a second chance at life. They all deserve a chance.
